Which is Your Favorite Notes Release?

A customer recently asked me that question were waiting for his Notes client to finish crashing and restarting. His favorite was 6.5.8.

For me, the correct answer is: All of them!  I don't know if I could name my favorite, but I do know the release I couldn't wait to get - Release 3.  To me, this release greatly expanded the automation of applications over what was possible in Release 2.  Release 2 seemed like discussion databases with notifications (think Sharepoint without the security or offline operation, only 18 years earlier).

How about you?  What was your favorite release?

1 - I don't recall there being a 6.5.8... There was a 6.5.6, and it went upto FP3...

2 - The most recent version is my favorite.

Especially since XPages came out.

3 - For the longest time it was 7.03. I';m now sold on 8.5.1 with the exception of the 3 annoying issues at NotesOnProductivity:

4 - 8.5.2 ;o) You're going to love it.

5 - That's correct R6.5x only went up to 6.5.6, R7 went up to R7.0.4 and then onto R8.

R8 obviously changed the game, but before that I would say that 6.5.4 was probably one of the best releases because it was the most stable release for such a long time.

6 - Back to R5 days, 5.0.9a and 5.0.12 were excellent in terms of number of problems. We had used them without headache.

I used 7.0.2 for a long time because versions after them had bugs for Turkish characters.

I feel that 8.5.2 will be next favorite version :)))

7 - Maybe he didn't say 6.5.8 - we were waiting for his client to restart. It is interesting which release people liked - there was a bug in 6.5.4 that really affected us, so we didn't like that release. But it was the best release for others...

8 - Definitely 7.0.3

Fast stable, and simple.

9 - Back since Notes 4, I used to say "that'll be fixed and all better in Notes 8" ... in order to keep with the times, I'm now saying "that'll be fixed and all better in Notes 12". But I'm no longer so sure it's true. It seems to me that Lotus is taking a lot of good ideas and making train wrecks out of them (the Connections wiki, anyone?).

I did like the 7 series, though. I still run the 751 version of Sametime, because it's in a separate thread from Notes (whoever thought that was a good idea?).
